Ukrainian pavilion has been opened in the Village International at the market of the 66th Cannes Film Festival. For the sixth consecutive year, the Ukrainian delegation is representing to international filmmakers and distributors the finished projects as well as those at the early stages of development.
For the first time in these years, Ukrainian filmmakers in the pavilion on the Croisette are presenting film for children audience – “John the Force” (Ivan Syla) by Victor Andrienko, “Nikita Kozhum’yaka and a fiery flower” by Rostislav Harbar and Mykhaylo Kostrov and “The Magic history: the elixir of goodness” directed by Lilia Soldatenko.
There will be presented about twenty projects at an early stage of production, Among them the debut full-length film (“Stepne”) of Palme d’Or winner at the Cannes Film Festival 2011 Maryna Vroda.
Documentaries are presented by a new film by Dmitry Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk “Red Malanka” and a film- almanac “Beyond Euro.”
Ukraine will present 12 short films at one of the main sections of the Market, Short Film Corner.
Market screening of “Feathered Dream” by Andriy Rozhen, the first ever co-production of Ukraine and Nigeria is scheduled for May 21.
