Ukrainian Location Used In Avatar: Fire and Ash

Avatar: Fire and Ash lists Ukraine as a filming location because the production used the country's natural landscapes as environmental backdrops for key scenes. While the bulk of the film was shot simultaneously with Avatar: The Way of Water in studios across New Zealand and California, the filmmakers captured impressive real-world environments to help build the visual foundation of Pandora.

Specifically, the crew sourced footage from the Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. They utilized the Yavoriv National Nature Park, located near the town of Yavoriv by the Polish border, taking advantage of its rich, untouched biodiversity to provide authentic natural scenery for the alien world.
