Ukrainian Film Marathon Empowered UA to Run Across UK

The international film marathon “Empowered UA” will take place across the United Kingdom from August 20 to September 30, 2026, marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

Organized as a cultural diplomacy initiative, the marathon will bring Ukrainian documentaries, feature films and classics to audiences in cities across the UK and other countries. The programme includes Empowered, The Veterans Theatre, Culture vs War, Dovbush, Toloka, Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors and The Lost Letter.

The marathon is organized in the UK by KRYLA Culture CIC, with support from the Watch Ukrainian Association and MHP-Hromadi Foundation, and assistance from Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
