Pamfir Holds World Premiere at Cannes Directors' Fortnight

Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk's debut feature Pamfir held its world premiere at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section of the Cannes Film Festival in May 2022. Set in Western Ukraine ahead of the Malanka carnival, the film explores familial loyalty, local smuggling networks, and systemic corruption, following a reformed criminal drawn back into illegal activity.

Director and screenwriter Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk led the production with director of photography Nikita Kuzmenko. The Cannes premiere represented one of Ukraine's most prominent fiction debut features of 2022.
