Butterfly Vision Premieres in Un Certain Regard Section at Cannes Film Festival

Maksym Nakonechnyi's debut feature Butterfly Vision (Ukrainian: Бачення метелика) premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2022. The psychological drama follows a female aerial reconnaissance soldier as she attempts to reintegrate into civilian life following military captivity, exploring themes of trauma, identity, and institutional failure.

Director Maksym Nakonechnyi and co-screenwriter Iryna Tsilyk crafted the film with director of photography Khrystyna Lyzogub. The Cannes premiere positioned Butterfly Vision as a major Ukrainian fiction debut in the international art-house market.
