20 Days in Mariupol Holds World Premiere at Sundance Film Festival, Wins Audience Award

Mstyslav Chernov's non-fiction feature 20 Days in Mariupol held its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023, winning the World Cinema Documentary Competition Audience Award. The film documents the first twenty days of the Russian siege of Mariupol, capturing the bombardment of hospitals and the desperate efforts of an Associated Press team to document atrocities under extreme danger.

Director and screenwriter Mstyslav Chernov, directors of photography Mstyslav Chernov and Evgeniy Maloletka, and producers Raney Aronson-Rath, Derl McCrudden, and Michelle Mizner launched a festival campaign that would culminate in historic Academy Award success.
