The European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films (ESFUF) has opened its second and final funding call of 2026, offering financial support for Ukrainian feature-film productions developed through international co-production.

The call is open to feature-length fiction, documentary and animation projects co-produced by Ukrainian production companies and companies based in countries contributing financially to the fund. Applications must be submitted before filming begins.

Eligible projects can receive up to €200,000 for fiction and animation films and €90,000 for documentaries. Applicants resubmitting a previously submitted project must provide an additional statement explaining the reasons for resubmission and outlining changes to the project’s creative development and financial structure.

Applications must be sent by November 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central European Time. The results are expected to be announced during the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in February 2027.

Established in 2023, ESFUF initially supported film development and completion before expanding into production financing in 2024. Renewed for 2026, the fund has a budget of €1.6 million and brings together 18 European partners alongside the European Film Agency Directors association (EFAD).

The initiative aims to sustain Ukrainian filmmaking during Russia’s full-scale war while strengthening collaboration between Ukrainian producers and European film industries.
