Sheffield DocFest presented 20 Days in Mariupol with the Tim Hetherington Award for exceptional documentary journalism in June 2023. The award honored the extraordinary personal risk and professional commitment demonstrated by Mstyslav Chernov, Evgeniy Maloletka, and Vasylisa Stepanenko in documenting the siege of Mariupol.
