The President of Ukraine has signed the new legislation adopted by Verkhovna Rada which increases the obligatory Ukrainian language presence for the national broadcasters up to 75% of their air time. The regional broadcasters of Ukraine are permitted to have 50% of Ukrainian in their content. This provides a greater urge for the national content producers to develop own projects instead of buying foreign programs.
