The film of the independent short films project Assholes. Arabesques “Dead-Way” by Ivan Timshin was awarded at the 5th Batumi International Art House Film Festival (Georgia). The short got the Jury Special mention in the Young Filmmakers Competition Section.
“Dead-Way” is Timshyn’s first work as a film director. He is also film director and scriptwriter of film My friend Seryoha from the almanach Assholes: Arabesques. Nowadas the director works as a writer and editor at the studio FILM.UA.
Batumi International Film Festival (12-19 September 2010) is a annual event which focuses on the art-house films. This year the jury of Young film makers competition section consisted of Christopher Kamyszew (USA), Vasily Sigarev (Film director, Russia), Michael Brooke (Film Critic/journalist, UK), Seifollah Samadian (Filmmaker/ photogrepher, Iran), Levan Koguashvili (Film maker, Georgia)
