“Bessporno” by Olexander Shapiro will be shown within the bounds of “Window To Europe” Vyborg Film Festival. Some years ago Shapiro’s “Cicuta” and “The Guide” has already attracted the festival audience with the radical way of showing Kyiv life.
“An Awesome Tale” full-length feature film by Roman Shyrman will represent Ukraine on the 10th China International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF). The Festival is going to be open in Qing Dao, September, 2009. It’s held every two years since 1989.

A Ukrainian film will be presented for the first time at the Monterrey International Film Festival. It is one of the most important cultural events in Latin America in recent years. The fifth Monterrey International Film Festival will be held from August 21st to the 29th 2009.

The premiere of a film about Chernobyl disaster took place in Havana. “Chernobyl In Us” is a documentary that was made by Daisy Gomez, Cuban TV journalist. It is a film about conditions and consequences of the disaster and also about the victims’ treatment on Cuba.

Star Media Film Production has started shooting a new TV series “Trap” since July,12. Film is produced by Larysa Zhuravskaya and Vlad Riashyn. Daniil Stakhov, Darja Moroz, Olga Polakova star in the film.
The comedy “Bruno,” starring British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, will not be shown in Ukrainian cinemas. The movie was scheduled to premiere on July 23, but the The Ukrainian Culture and Tourism Ministry decided to ban the distribution and demonstration of the film in the country.
