The “KROK” Film Festival Named The Winners

The film “Vova Rules” by Ukrainian filmmaker Adrian Sakhuliev was awarded with the diploma for applied and commissioned animation at the KROK Film Festival.
The 16th KROK International Animated Film Festival took place in September 28 – October 4, 2009 onboard the river cruiser “Zirka Dnipra” following the route: Kyiv – Zaporizhia – Kherson – Sevastopil — Odessa.

This year, the commission selected 93 out of 823 films for the competition and 30 films for the information program. The official program includes films from 36 countries. The jury consisted of Violetta Kolesnikova (Russia), Jean Burnaz (France), Eric Goossens (Belgium), and Joan Grats (U.S.A.). Sergiy Trymbach, the Ukrainian film critic became the head of the festival jury.

The Grand Prix and $5,000 was awarded to “Lily”, directed by Rikho Untu (Estonia). This annual festival is hosted alternately by Ukraine and Russia.
