The 1st Kyiv International Film Festival (KIFF) will be held in Kyiv since May, 29 till June, 3 2009. Bogdan Stupka the founder and president of the festival promised that it will become annual.
The 62nd annual Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 13 to May 24, 2009. This is the second time when Ukraine will be presented on Festival with own exhibition hall on Festival Film Market. Firstly Ukraine actively participated in 2008.

One of the most famous and scandalous modern artists Damien Hirst has opened a full-scale exhibition called “Requiem”, a major retrospective of over 100 works dating from 1990 to 2008 in Kyiv’s PinchukArtCentre.
