The 5th Edition Of KinoLev International Film Festival Will Be Held In Lviv

editor August 18th, 2010

5th KinoLev International Film Festival will be held in Lviv from 21 to 24 August. This year’s festival is dedicated to the 80th jubilee of Federiko Fellini. Fellini’s best films will be for the first time translated into Ukrainian and screened before a wide audience.

Competition programs, presentations and professional meetings, premiers and retrospective shows, exhibitions and cinema school “FilmKio” are in the “KinoLev – 2010” festival programme. The traditional festival themes are “Young Cinema”, “World’s idea of Ukraine and Ukrainians”, “The Festival of Festivals”, “Silent Movie Classics”, and “The Best Ukrainian Movie Translation”.

The festival’s program includes about 40 films of young film directors from different countries. Ukrainian films will compete not only with films from Poland and Byelorussia but also from exotic Libya and Tunis. The main criterion of the film selection for the festival is the young film makers’ independent view upon the world problems.

This year the special attention will focus on Ukrainian cinema. The competition and non-competition program is mostly composed of films directed by young Ukrainian perspective filmmakers.
