“Melody For A Barrel-Organ” Will Be Shown In Canada

“Melody For A Barrel-Organ” by Kira Miratova will participate in The 34th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will be presented as part of the Masters programme, which brings audiences new works from the world’s greatest filmmakers. Besides the recent film of Muratova the festival announces works premieres of Lars von Trier, Michael Haneke, Fran?ois Ozon within the bounds of Masters programme.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was founded as a ‘festival of festivals’ screening the best pictures from other events and is held each September in Toronto, Ontario. This year the festival begins in September 10 and lasts for ten days.

Between 300-400 films are screened at approximately 23 screens in downtown Toronto venues. Annual attendance at TIFF exceeds 335 films from 64 countries to screen over 10 days. In terms of audience attendance, it is regularly ranked in the top five, after Cannes, Berlin, Venice, New York and Sundance.

Some mothes ago “Melody For A Barrel-Organ” was awarded at the Moscow International Film Festival. In October 2009 national premiere of the film will take place.
